    James L. Sireno, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at the Department of
   
Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-BarreBorn Oct. 14, 1912, in
Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Rocco and Grace English Sireno.
   
A graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, he was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre.
   
He was formerly employed as a letter carrier by the U.S. Postal Service,
Wilkes-Barre, for 30 years.
   
He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Park Avenue,
Wilkes-Barre, and the Italian-American Veterans, Wilkes-Barre.
   
He was preceded in death by brothers, Lewis and Henry; sisters, Josephine
Tracy and Grace Meyers.
   
Surviving are brothers, Leo, Ashley; Anthony, New York.
   
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Desiderio Funeral Home
Inc., 377 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30
a.m. in Holy Rosary Church.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 8:45 a.m. to the time of the service Monday.
