Laura Dickson, Democratic candidate for State Representative of District 117, will hold a meet and greet event from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 t the Old Beaumont School. Light refreshments will be served.

District 117 encompasses all of Wyoming County as well as the townships of Dallas, Franklin, Harveys Lake, Lehman, Jackson and Ross and Harveys Lake Borough.

BLOOD DRIVE,

HOAGIE SALE

Mountain Grange No. 567 and the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at the Grange Hall, 1632 W. Eighth St,, Kingston Township. To make an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767.

Grange members will also sell Italian and turkey hoagies and other food items, including ice cream dones and root beer floats, during that time.

WORKSHOP SET

The Music Box Theatre Academy will conduct a theatre workshop for students ages 12 to 20 beginning Sept. 15 at the Music Box Dinner Playhouse, 196 Hughes St., Swoyersville. The students will perform the musical, “Legally Blonde Jr.” on Oct. 17, 18 and 19. Fee is $200 if registered prior to July 31 or $250 after that date.

Family Service Association of NEPA will hold its Sixh Annual Pauly Friedman 5K Family Walk/Run on Sunday, Aug. 10 at Misericordia University. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration; race time is 9:30 a .m.

Cost is $25 per person and all proceeds benefit Help Line/211, a 24-hour/ 7-day per week information and referral and after hours crisis service in our community. The walk/run is open to all ages and an after race awards party will be open to all participants.

The Sixth Annual Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge Benefit Dnace will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29 at the Irem Temple Country Pavilion, Dallas, featuring music by Daddy-O and the Sax Maniax.
