    Sister M. Brendan McNamara, R.S.M., a member of the Dallas Regional
Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, died Thursday in Mercy
Hospital,
   
Wilkes-BarreThe former Anna A. McNamara was born in 1909, in Scranton, and
was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna King McNamara.
   
She graduated from Holy Rosary School, Scranton, and entered the Sisters of
Mercy, Dallas, in 1927. She professed her vows in 1930 and graduated from
College Misericordia, Dallas Township, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary
education.
   
She taught in the parochial schools in the dioceses of Scranton, Brooklyn,
N.Y., and the Rockville Center, before retiring in 1989.
   
Following her retirement, she was the manager of the gift shop at the Mercy
Center and was a member of the Prayer Ministry.
   
She was preceded in death by her brother, John McNamara; sisters, Sister M.
Athanasius McNamara, R.S.M.; Helen and Isabel McNamara, Alice Bohman and
Kathryn Parise.
   
Surviving are her brother, Edward McNamara, Stamford, Conn.; sisters, Laura
Devine, Stamford, Conn.; Dolores Guzda, Westport, Conn.
   
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Chapel of
Mercy Center, Dallas.
   
Transferal to Mercy Center, Dallas, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday.
   
Wake services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
   
Funeral arrangements are by E. Blake Collins Funeral Directors,
Wilkes-Barre, and Kingston.
