Pennsylvania Sire Stakes action continues tonight with five divisions of
the 3-year old filly trotters as the featured attraction. Several quality
fillies make their first-ever appearances at the Downs, with the most notable
trotter being Cologne Kosmos (Race No. 3). Owned by Kosmos Horse Breeders
Inc., Cologne Kosmos has turned in a sensational season, to say the least. Her
two biggest triumphs would have to be the Currier & Ives Final and winning an
elimination of the Hambletonian Oaks. Although she was heavily favored to win
in the $500,000 final of the Hambletonian Oaks, the daughter of S J’s Photo
faded late to finish fifth. This isn’t the Meadowlands and this isn’t the
Hambletonian Oaks, so there’s no pressure on Cologne Kosmos tonight, thus I
see her jogging down the road tonight and expanding on her already nice
$109,699 bankroll. Keep an eye on the teletimer; the track record just may be
in jeopardy.
