The Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Early Intervention Infant/Toddler and Preschool Programs recently received high praise following the State Office of Child Development and Early Learning’s Verification Process. The Early Intervention program, sponsored by the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program, provides services and support to more than 300 infants and toddlers each month and is designed to help families with children who have developmental delays. Early Intervention services, including parent/caregiver education, family support and developmental therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and special instruction are provided at no cost to families.
