Ellen Volansky, formerly of Nicholson Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, died
Friday afternoon at the Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Jersey
ShoreBorn in Wilkes-Barre Township, she was the daughter of the late
Michael and Anna Bendik Kaskus. She was educated in Wilkes-Barre Township
schools.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lee Park, Hanover
Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1988; son, John, in
1975.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth N. Nice, Jersey Shore; sister, Mrs. Sue
Kovach, Lititz; grandchildren, Jonathan Nice, Ruth Ellen Nice, Lois Nice and
John Michael Volansky; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, South
Main Street, Lee Park, with the Rev. Gerald J. Grimm, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.
Friends may call 11:30 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in church.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1000 S.
Main St., Lee Park, 18702; or to St. John’s Lutheran Church, South Broad
Street, Jersey Shore, 17740.
Arrangements are by the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St.,
Wilkes-Barre.
