PLAINS TWP. — Police reported the following:
• Robert Cool of Hazleton was charged with criminal trespass Sunday after a police K-9 dog found him hiding in a closet in a vacant building. Police responded to the building at 73 Maffett Street at 12:18 a.m. for a report of someone trespassing.
Pittston Police K-9 dog Blitz and Jenkins Township police assisted in the investigation. The dog located Cook in an upstairs closet.
Cool was wanted by Kingston and Wilkes-Barre police and taken into custody. He was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and lodged.
• Anthony Day of Luzerne will face charges after he was found with a cellphone charger stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway along Maple Street early Sunday morning. Police were called to the area at approximately 3:30 a.m. for a man looking into vehicles. Day will be charged with theft, loitering and prowling at night and criminal attempt to commit theft.
SCRANTON — A 37- year-old Scranton man was found dead in the pool area of Nay Aug Park on Sunday. A pedestrian found the body of Kevin Lawrence at approximately 6 a.m., said Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland.
Scranton police are investigating the suspicious death, Rowland said. An autopsy will be done today.
