HAZLE TWP. — State police say they are looking for an unknown male who stole a 32-inch Samsung LED TV from Walmart Super center on Airport Road on Saturday at around 1:20 a.m.

According to state police at Hazleton, the suspect fled the scene in what appeared to be a dark-colored Dodge Stratus with an unknown Pennsylvania registration.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call PSP Hazleton at 570-459-3890.

HAZLE TWP. — State police at Hazleton are investigating a retail theft at the Laurel Mall in Hazle Township.

According to police, Keisla Jeannette Rodriguez, 22, of Hazleton, and Julio Vargas-Pujols, 22 of Hazleton, opened merchandise and tried to conceal it on their persons before leaving the mall K-Mart store.

Both were stopped by K-Mart loss prevention personnel and cited for retail theft.

WILKES-BARRE — Police said they found Kevin Perry, 43, of Wilkes-Barre, had marijuana when they were taking him into custody for alleged public drunkenness and causing a disturbance around 2 a.m. Sunday in front of a house on Poplar Street’s 200 block.

HAZLETON — Police said they arrested Juan Rodriguez Saturday around 9 p.m. and charged him with simple assault, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness after an incident in the 500 block of Grant Street.

Rodriguez, 21, of Hazleton, was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment.

PLAINS TWP. — Police reported that on Nov. 2, at 3:03 a.m. they observed Michael Molinaro Jr. of Wilkes-Barre walking on state Route 315. Molinaro was wanted by the Lackawanna County Sheriff’s Department and was taken into custody, police said.

Police said Molinaro also was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on the warrant and also for overnight arraignment on his new charges.

PLAINS TWP. — Police reported that on Nov. 24 at 1:42 a.m. police responded to the Mohegan Sun Casino for a report of a man who was assaulted by two other men. Police said they contacted Charles Sherbin of Hanover Township, who reported that he was assaulted.

Sherbin was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police said video footage indicated that Sherbin was assaulted by Joshua Atherton of Mayfield and Scott Vinelli of Scranton. Police said Sherbin was inside his vehicle and then was pulled out and continued to be assaulted.

Police said charges are pending against Atherton and Vinelli.
