WILKES-BARRE — City police are investigating a multiple stabbing/assault incident on Wayne Street on Wednesday.

Police said two victims were treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township for stab wounds.

A preliminary investigation indicates the assault, which was reported to Luzerne County 911 at 3:28 p.m., was a continuation of a dispute that began at a different location not in the city of Wilkes-Barre and is not a random act, police said.

The Wilkes-Barre Police Department’s Detective Bureau is continuing the investigation.
