HAZLETON —A woman was arraigned Tuesday on charges she attempted to stab a man with a steak knife.
Tracy Shamir McMurrian, 26, of North Sherman Court, Hazleton, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and scattering rubbish.
She was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
Police said a man reported just before 9:30 p.m. Monday that McMurrian struck him several times with a large steak knife. McMurrian was apprehended when she attempted to leave the scene in the 500 block of North Sherman Street, police said.
No injuries were reported.
BANKS TWP. — A Schuylkill County man died from injuries that were the result of a car crash on Treskow Road near Banks Avenue Monday night.
State police at Hazleton identified the man as 64-year-old Andrew McAloose of Kelayres.
State police said McAloose was traveling east on Treskow Road when he lost control of his vehicle, which rolled several times at about 7 p.m. McAloose was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
HAZLETON — A woman residing in the 100 block of South Church Street told city police she entered her living room and encountered a man stealing her television at about 9:47 p.m. Monday.
The man, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, fled.
WILKES-BARRE TWP. — Samantha Kelly reported to township police that someone had flattened the driver’s side tires and keyed the driver’s side of her vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of the Wyoming Valley Mall near Chili’s Restaurant.
