WILKES-BARRE — City police charged Steven S . Perlmutter with simple assault and accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property from an incident that occurred the morning of Oct. 17.
According to the police complaint, Perlmutter, 70, of 404-A Pin Oak Drive, White Haven, was observed driving a green Kia Soul on Scott Street and attempting to run over the driver of another vehicle. The report states the Kia drove over a concrete median and struck the other vehicle and did not stop, police said.
Police said the driver of the second vehicle, Patrick Muller, said the incident began in Mountain Top and he called 911. Muller said when he got to Scott Street, he got out of his vehicle and Perlmutter tried to run him over, striking his vehicle, and then fled the scene, police said.
HAZLETON — The Pennsylvania Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited 15th Street Beer Warehouse Corp. D’Amato’s Pizza for allegedly violating the state Liquor Code.
According to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the charges stem from an Aug. 28 incident. The alleged code violations were listed as fortified, adulterated and/or contaminated liquor.
The release states penalties can range from $50 to $1,000 for minor offense and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. An Administrative Law Judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge(s) brought. the ALJ can also mandate training for the licensee.
