HANOVER TWP. – A 13-year-old girl reported to police Thursday she was walking home on Lee Park Avenue and white van with two males pulled over and asked her where she was going.

One of the males told the girl to get in and they would give her a ride. She refused, the males laughed and drove off, police said.

The next day, the same girl reported walking on Boland Avenue and a black Jeep pulled up with two males and asked the girl if she wanted a ride.

The girl ran away and the Jeep left traveling north on Lee Park Avenue.

The males were described as black, one around 18, the other in his 20s. The passenger had a black and yellow hat and the driver had a snap-back blue hat.

Several minutes later, Luzerne County 911 reported a similar Jeep was on Carlisle Street in Wilkes-Barre. Police checked the area, but the Jeep had already left.

No license plates were reported.

HAZLETON – Johnathan Enrique Jaramillo Rodas, 26, of Hazleton was arrested on evidence of drunken driving early Saturday morning.

Police said they responded to a crash in the 600 block of Lincoln Street at 2:13 a.m. Police said Rodas struck a legally parked vehicle and attempted to flee. He was charged with DUI and damage to unattended vehicles.

HAZLETON – One person was injured in two-vehicle crash on Church and Vine streets Friday evening, police said.

A 1999 Honda CRV driven by Yafreysi Calcano of Hazleton was eastbound on Maple Street and proceeded into the intersection when it was unsafe to do so and hit a 2007 Dodge Caravan, driving by Robert Burns of Hazleton, which was northbound on Church Street.

Burns was treated and released at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, police said. Calcano was cited for driving without a license.

HAZLETON – Police are looking for a school bus that was involved in a hit and run Friday afternoon.

Police responded to Vine and Walnut streets and were told a bus with the number “75” on the side backed into a parked, unattended 2001 Volkswagen Passat. The bus fled west on Walnut Street. Anyone with information is urged to call Hazleton Police.
