NEWPORT TWP. — A man from Glen Lyon was arraigned Wednesday on charges he provided a false name to township police in April.
Joseph D. Montialbano, 31, was charged with false identification to law enforcement. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Township police investigated a domestic disturbance at a residence on Rock Street when Montialbano provided a false name to identify himself on April 6, according to the criminal complaint.
NANTICOKE — A man from Scranton was arraigned Wednesday on charges he had stolen meat and seafood from Weis Market, Weis Plaza, on June 19 and Tuesday.
Raymond Joseph Cordy, 56, of North Washington Avenue, was charged with three counts of retail theft, two counts of receiving stolen property, a single count of criminal attempt to commit retail theft and several vehicle code violations. He was released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
City police allege Cordy entered Weis Market and stole a large amount of meat and seafood he removed from the store in garbage bags, according to the criminal complaints.
