Charles P. Yurgaitis, 89, of Plains Township, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Golden Living Center, East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.

Born in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was a son of the late Charles and Frances (Sadauskas) Yurgaitis.

Charles was educated in Wilkes-Barre Township schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by Muskin Pools in customer service for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Joseph E. Conlon Post 558, American Legion, Plains Township.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean Rehrig; brothers, Joseph and John Yurgaitis, and sisters, Eva Yacalavitch, Catherine Salvage, Anna Skuba, Frances Pissott, Mary Yurgaitis, Elizabeth Mikush and Marcella Jenkins.

Surviving are his son, Charles Yurgaitis and his wife, Mary, Hanover Township; grandchildren, Brandi and Charlene; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Dasani and Rodney; beloved companion, Stella Dudzik, with whom he resided; niece, Mary Yaple; and several nieces and nephews.
