WILKES-BARRE — City police reported the following:
• Matthew Johnson, of 7 Chase Lane, reported on Thursday morning that someone entered his residence and ttook his dog, a Siberian husky. The 3-year-old dog, named Rhyina, is black-and-white with a little bit of brown and was wearing a pink Harley-Davidson leash.
• The property manager for an Old River Road apartment complex reported on Wednesday afternoon that someone broke into an apartment within the last three weeks and stole a cast iron radiator.
NEWPORT TWP. — Township police on Wednesday arrested Charles Harth, of Harth and Sons General Contracting, for allegedly failing to finish work he was paid to do, police said.
Police said Harth entered into a contract to provide construction services to a Sharp Street resident, but after receiving payment, Harth allegedly appeared at the residence only five days in a three-week period.
Harth allegedly told the resident he was “out of money to finish the rest of the job” and advised the resident to find a new contractor.
He was charged with receiving advance payment for services and failing to perform, a third-degree felony. He was arraigned before District Judge Donald Whittaker and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 bail.
