Prosecutors seek to bar computer animation in homicide case

WILKES-BARRE – Luzerne County prosecutors want a judge to exclude a computer animation prepared by a defense expert in the Jeffrey Dennis homicide case, arguing attorneys have failed to show that the theory advanced in the presentation is supported by forensic evidence.

At a hearing Wednesday, First Assistant District Attorney Jacqueline Musto Carroll sought to question the defense experts to determine how they reached their findings. But Dennis’ attorneys, William Ruzzo and Ferris Webby, objected, arguing the request is premature.

Dennis, a former Dallas Township police officer, is awaiting trial on charges he fatally shot his wife, Carli, inside their Wyoming home in February 2006. Police allege Dennis shot his wife because he was upset she was having an affair. Dennis has claimed she shot herself following an argument.
