A Northeastern Pennsylvania-based advertising agency is taking American marketing to the U.K.

Positive Results Marketing (PRM) in January opened an office in London through which CEO and president Byron Read says marketing professionals in the company’s locations in the United States are already serving clients across the Atlantic.

Read on Monday said as aggressive, American-style advertising becomes more accepted in the U.K., the services offered by companies like PRM grow more desirable to businesses.

“The perception is that our digital advertising is more sophisticated,” he said. “And from a cost standpoint, because the dollar is so weak against the pound, we can price competitively.”

PRM’s London office currently houses only a small staff of four employees who are responsible for managing, acquiring and coordinating accounts, Read said. The support work, meanwhile, is done out of the Old Forge and Bradenton Beach, Florida, offices.

Compared to the U.S., Read said the sales process in the U.K. often moves slowly as clients tend to demand more in the way of details and seek more long-term agreements than their American counterparts.

“They are a culture of people that really is detail-focused,” he said.

But despite the more deliberate pace, PRM through referrals has already established a diverse base of clients, including an international property consulting firm, an organization that attracts health care professionals to the U.K. as well as restaurant and retail companies.

Read, who was preparing Monday to travel to the London office, said his firm has so far been received with extreme positivity in the U.K., and said he expects PRM’s overseas efforts will meet success as they continue to expand.
