Three doctors with the Luzerne County Medical Society have earned awards for 50 years of service in medicine. Award recipients are Dr. Peter J. Andrews Sr., Dr. Salvatore M. Imperiale Jr. and Basil M. RuDusky. Among the honorees’ many accomplishments: Andrews earned the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Physician Recognition Award; Imperiale served as director of Radiology at Mercy Hospital and was a member of the Medical and Health Care Committee of the United Health and Hospital Services, Inc.; and RuDusky is the recipient of the Honors Achievement Award from the Angiology Research Foundation and the Purdue Frederick Co. and was included in the 2003 Edition of the Consumer’s Research Council of America’s ‘Guide to America’s Top Physicians.’ Dr. Joseph J. Andrews, past president, recently earned the Presidential Award of Appreciation for his involvement in renovations to the Society’s historic building.
