Suzuki School for Strings to present Holiday Concert Nov. 23
   
The Suzuki School for Strings, directed by Lillian Supplee, will present a
    Holiday Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at The First Presbyterian Church, 97
SFranklin St., Wilkes-Barre. Orchestral and string ensemble music including
Vivaldi, Mozart and Tchaikovsky will be performed along with Christmas
selections. The Tunkhannock Area Honors Chorus, directed by Al Purdy, will
join the Advanced String Orchestra in the performance of excerpts from
Handel’s Messiah. Admission is free and the concert is open to the public. For

`Believe in Family’ is theme for National Family Week
   
“Believe in Family” is the theme of this year’s National Family Week, to be
celebrated Nov. 23-29. Each year Family Service Association of Wyoming Valley,
in conjunction with National Family Week, stresses the healthy family’s
contribution to the well-being of society. Its mission has been to provide
professional help to support, strengthen and contribute to the positive
development of individual and family relationships. Through a variety of
services such as counseling, Family Life Education, Help Line and the “R-U-OK
?” Program, it helps hundreds of people locally. First row, from left: Ruth

Family Service to raise banner for National Family Week
   
The board, friends and staff of Family Service Association gathered to
reveal a banner that will fly over Public Square during the month of November
calling on the community to “Believe in Family” by observing National Family

`Red Out Day’ supports safe and sober driving
   
The Northeast Highway Safety Program of Catholic Social Services, will join
local law enforcement agencies, schools and health programs to promote “Red
Out Day” on Nov. 25. The National Highway Traffic Administration, Division III
designates individuals to wear red in support of safe and sober driving and
buckling up this holiday season. A formal program is planned on Red Out Day at
the Emergency Services Agency Building. To mark this day, volunteer awards,
speakers and a cocktail reception will be held. If your group or organization
