WILLIAMSPORT – Four first half goals led Wilkes to a convincing 5-0 non-conference road win at Penn College on Wednesday evening.


Eric McAnena got the Colonels on the board in the 11th minute off of an assist from Michael Turner. At the 17:11 mark Nicholas Patricia added a goal with the assist going to McAnena. Abdullah Albannay scored the third goal at the 35:40 mark with a feed from Ian Moyer and just 11 seconds later Justin Weaver scored off of an assist from Ryan Joyce.


Starting goalkeeper Dave Marr made two saves in net and the Colonels as a team picked up their third shutout of the year.


COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER


King’s 5, Baptists Bible 2


Ritchie Reyes set up two goals with assists to lead King’s College to a 5-2 victory.


Karl Jamiolkowski made two saves in the net.


COLLEGE WOMEN’S SOCCER


Misericordia 8, Lycoming 1


Misericordia improved to 6-0 with a win at Lycoming.


Alyssa Mocion had two goals and three assists and Erin McGreal and Megan Lannigan added two goals each.


King’s 1, Mount St. Vincent 0

Sophomore Ivy Nulton broke through for King’s in the 68th minute when she stole the ball from a Dolphin defender and drove the ball to the far post.


The Monarch defense made the lead stand up not allowing Mount Saint Vincent a shot in the second half. King’s finished the night with a 25-1 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.


Wilkes 1, Gwynedd-Mercy 0


Ashley Graham scored the game-winning goal late in the first half to lift visiting Wilkes over Gwynedd-Mercy.


Graham’s goal came when she deflected a corner into the back of the net with assists from Alicia Roberts and Haley Adam. The goal proved to be the difference as goalie Kate Mahoney made three saves to preserve the shutout road victory.


COLLEGE WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL


Misericordia 3, Manhattanville 0


Misericordia University opened the Freedom Conference season with a 30-28, 25-13, 25-19 sweep of Manhattanville at the Anderson Center.


Shelby Brochetti led the attack with 11 kills while Nicole Korgeski and Kate Stuessy both added eight kills.
