WILKES-BARRE — A two-car collision at the intersection of New Alexander
and Charles streets Sunday afternoon was caused by a driver who ran a stop
sign, police said.

James Apolinaro, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving south on Charles Street
when he ran the stop sign at New Alexander Street shortly before 2 p.m.,
police said.
Apolinaro’s car then crashed into a car driven by Mike Conway, 25, who was
traveling west on New Alexander Street. The impact pushed Conway’s car across
the intersection and onto a sidewalk.

No one was injured, but both cars sustained major damage, police said.
