EATON TWP. — A resident of Hunlock Creek was killed in a two-vehicle
accident on state Route 29 in Eaton Township early Thursday morning, said
state police at Tunkhannock.

Robert A. Maslowski, 39, drove his southbound GMC pickup into the
northbound lane of Route 29 about 2 a.m. At the time, a tractor-trailer was
northbound on Route 29 on the south side of Copper Mine Hill.
The operator of the tractor-trailer, Anthony Austin, 41, of St. Louis, was
forced to swerve left into the southbound lane as Maslowski’s pickup headed
toward his vehicle, police said.

But Maslowski swerved back into the southbound lane, police said, and the
vehicles collided.

Wyoming County Coroner Thomas Kukuchka pronounced Maslowski dead at the
scene.

Austin was not injured.

Seat belt information was not available.

Police said their investigation is continuing.
