Ex-area professor to sign books

Col. Bob Haller, author of the new anti-terrorist novel “The Kombinatsia
Conspiracy!” is scheduled to autograph books Friday and Saturday at
Boscov’s in The Mall at Steamtown in Scranton The signings will take place at
the mall entrance to Boscov’s on the main floor from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m. and 7:30 to 9 p.m. on both days.

Haller’s novel deals with a terrorist team that comes to New York City with
a mission to shoot down a Pan AM jetliner with a Stinger missile. A team of
Army Reservists swing into action to stop them.

The similarities between Haller’s novel, which he wrote seven years ago,
and the tragedy of TWA 800 are frightening.

“We may never know what caused the disaster,” said Haller, “but a future
terrorist Stinger missile attack on a passenger airliner is a disaster waiting
to happen.”

Haller said the reconnaissance that the terrorist team conducts at the New
York airport in the novel is actual.

Haller was an assistant professor at Marywood College from 1988 to 1995; he
directed public relations and advertising programs. He also is a retired
colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, after a career of 30 years in which he
served in Special Operations.
