The public is invited to climb the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes Barre on Saturday, March 7. Registration starts at 1 p.m. and the climb starts at 2 p.m. Rise to the challenge and make a difference.
“Lung disease is the number three killer — and we want to make a difference at the local level,” said Donna Ray-Reifler from the American Lung Association office in Wilkes Barre. “Our Climb the Arena event helps us all fight for better lung health, while having fun as a community.”
Participants will climb the Wachovia Arena: up and down one entire floor of stairs, east to west, which equals, “1,224 steps that could move us closer to better treatments for lung disease,”says Ray-Reifler. “This is a really exciting and unique event to our area and we invite anyone over 14 years old to join us.”
