PITTSTON: Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad St., has organized a support group for grandparents raising grandchildren to meet at noon on every fourth Monday of the month at the library.
The library will also be administering the regional grandparents program and planning the eighth annual conference to be held on Oct. 24 at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

SCRANTON: The Northeastern Pennsylvania Health Care Foundation is seeking grant applications from 501(c)3 organizations for projects designed to support health and wellness initiatives serving the people of Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties.
The grant-funded projects must be consistent with the mission of the foundation which is to support the health care needs including, but not limited to, health education, community wellness, payment for medical care of uninsured and under-insured regardless of the facility of treatment and to improve the complete physical, mental and social well-being county residents.
The application process begins with a Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted via email to email@example.com. LOIs should be a maximum of one page and should provide a summary of the proposal and the dollar amount requested. The letters may be submitted at any time prior to the final date of Aug. 1. Following review of the LOIs, applicants invited to submit a full grant application will be notified by the foundation and will be given access to the online application. The final deadline for submission of the full grant application is Oct. 1, 2014.
