The 79th annual Heights St. David’s Day Father and Son Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at Puritan Congregational Church, 71 S. Sherman St., Wilkes-Barre. The event honors St. David, the patron saint of Wales, and is open to all fathers and sons of the St. David’s Society of Wyoming Valley membership. Tickets are $15.
This year’s speaker will be society member Dr. William V. Lewis Jr., an author of several books and vice president and wealth manager with Merrill Lynch. Lewis is also a member of many community organizations and has received numerous awards. Most notably, Lewis is a member of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. He lives in Jenkins Township with his wife and three children.
