Misericordia University and Wilkes University are offering college students, faculty and health care professionals an opportunity to participate in a global health care service program in Karagwe, Tanzania, in June 2015. The two-week program will offer the opportunity to work with community partners in a variety of hospital and community settings and services including in- and out-patient health care, women’s rights, micro-finance, safe water and communications. Faculty from the two universities will accompany students on the trip. The cost of the two-week program is $3,400 and includes tuition for a three-credit study abroad class, all transportation in Africa, room and board with three meals a day, bottled water for drinking and international health insurance. Those not interested in earning credits can audit the class for a reduced rate. For more information contact Dr. Linda Winker at 570-408-4605 or [email protected] or Dr. Cynthia Mailloux, at 570-674-6443 or [email protected].
