The streets of Tunkhannock will become a little more colorful when the Airing of the Quilts takes place on Saturday, Oct.2.

The Airing of the Quilts is a nine-year tradition that showcases the talents of quilters from all over the area.

Boy Scouts of Troop 518, Tunkhannock, will display a specially-designed quilt made from scraps of official Boy Scout material.

The quilt will be on display at 9 a.m. inside the cafeteria at Tunkhannock Area Middle School on Franklin Avenue where the Scouts will serve water, coffee, donuts and lunches at a reasonable price.

Proceeds from the sale will directly benefit the Scouts in their year-long Scouting activities.
