Amazon Fulfillment Center, Hazleton, recently held a family night at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton RailRiders ballpark. More than a thousand Amazon employees and their family members attended. It was military appreciation night and Amazon donated $5,000 to support the Hazleton chapter of Operation Homefront, a nonprofit serving military families. Amazon has supported military veterans through its military-hiring program for many years. Amazon hired more than 1,900 veterans last year, including many who work in the Hazleton fulfillment center. At the check presentation, from left, first row: Michael Saponsky, Collins Halstead, Bill Kowal and Chris Benway, Amazon, and Matt McCue, Operation Homefront. Second row: Bui Wands and Greg Boyle, Amazon.
