The Kingston Seventh-day Adventist Church recently hosted a health expo at the Martz Amphitheater in Kirby Park. The event offered health services at no charge to the public, including blood pressure and cholesterol screening, height and weight measurement, body fat indexing, lung function testing and grip testing. Various games and prizes were offered for children and were supervised by the Pathfinder Club and other youth from the church. The public also received free literature on the importance of rest, diet and nutrition, free samples of vegan recipes and bottled water. Donations were received from Wegmans, Walmart, Weiss Markets and Price Chopper. The expo was coordinated by the Health Ministries Department of the church, under the direction of Carol Buchalski and Elaine Gayman, and was staffed by several health professionals and volunteers from the church. At the height and weight measurement station, from left, first row, are Shae-Lyn Briggs, Wyoming Valley Falcon Pathfinder Club, and Dr. Jose Castillo. Second row: Dale McElwee, Kingston Seventh-day Adventist Church.
