The Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties will be having its annual “Active Aging Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Market Street Square in Wilkes-Barre.
Informational tables with experts in the field of Aging and Aging services will be present to distribute information and to speak individually with all interested individuals.
The day will be filled with fun activities that include an a Zumba Gold demonstration provided by the Wilkes-Barre YMCA., a performance by belly dancers from the Kingston Active Adult Center, as well as Stankey and the Coal Miners. Additional programs such as bag check for your purchases, coffee, doughnuts, bathroom facilities and early bird bingo will be held at the Charles T. Adams Active Adult Center, 5 E. Market St., Wilkes Barre.
As part of the Area Agency on Aging Prime Time Health Program, flu shots will be available under the auspices of the National Council on Aging Flu and You Program and the Wilkes Barre City Health Department, under the direction of Ted Cross.
Members of the Active Adult Centers may pre-arrange to order a bag lunch to enjoy on the Square by contacting their local Active Adult Center prior to the event.
