DUPONT: The VFW Post 4909 will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the post home. Items of importance will be discussed and reports given. Commander Gary Carwardine will preside. The Home Association meeting will take place after the regular meeting. Food and refreshments will be provided after both meetings.
GLEN LYON: The Lt. Chester F. Strzalka Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8353 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the American Legion Post 539, 62 Newport Street. Commander John Pickle has been advised that the national dues will increase by $10 per year as of Jan. 1, 2014. Members are encouraged to pay their annual dues prior to that date.
JESSUP: The Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps is being sponsored by the Michael Steiner American Legion Post 411 in Jessup and will continue to be sponsored by the Garbarina-Mazarakos American Legion Post 1523 of New York City. The group is part of the New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps, Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit organization. The organization was founded in 1945 and has been dedicated to the performance and excellence in the field of competitive drum and bugle corps.
SWOYERSVILLE: The Catholic War Veterans Memorial Post 1601 will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Swoyersville American Legion. Commander Donald Rakus will conduct the meeting. All members are urge to attend.
The Catholic War Veterans Home Association meeting will be held immediately after the regular post meeting. President John Tobias will preside. All members are invited.
