John Sokol

John E. Sokol, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Warrior Run, died Friday at
Venice
HospitalBorn in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Stella Sokol, of Florida, and
the late John A. Sokol. He was a graduate of Kemper Insurance Institute,
Chicago, Ill.; Mount Aetna High School and the Lumbermans Institute. He also
attended Wilkes College.
He was a branch manager of the Royal Globe Insurance Co., Wilkes-Barre,
until retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin L.
Surviving are his wife, Olga; daughter, Olga Noll, Oak RIdge, Tenn.; son,
John, Marlton, N.J.; brother, Raymond K., Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Elana,
Kristy and Caroline Sokol, all of New Jersey; Robert, Justin and Matthew
Knoll, all of Tennessee.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday from the George A. Strish Inc.
Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in
Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, with the Rev. John Mason officiating.
Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
