    Anna A. Thompson, 73, formerly of Ashley, died Thursday at the home of her
daughter, Marion Rilko, of Miner Street, Hudson, Plains TownshipBorn March 8,
1923, in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Magda
Gavlick.
   
She resided in Ashley most of her life and attended Ashley schools.
   
She was employed for 25 years by Prestige Shoe and was a member of Holy
Rosary Church, Ashley.
   
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Thompson, on Nov. 13, 1993.
   
Surviving in addition to her daughter, Marion Rilko, are a daughter, Ann
Marie Moore, New Oxford; a son, Edward Thompson, Hudson; eight grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Unvarsky and Dolores Ruda, both of
Ashley; brothers; Andrew and Joseph Gavlick, both of Wilkes-Barre; Bernard
Gavlick, Ashley.
   
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday from E. Blake Collins Funeral
Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m.
in Holy Rosary Church.
   
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
   
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
