EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. today in St. Anthony’s Center. Host and hostesses are Theresa Blasavage, Toni Hall, Kathy Loucks, Florence Stankoski and Ed Stankoski.

The 50-50 winners at the previous meeting were Olga Costello, Ginny Craig, Terri Mislin, Rose Mary Oliveri and Frances Poluske. Tosalie Ferrara and Terri Mislan shared the special game prize and Olga Costello won the bingo jackpot. Irene Parini was the winner of the basket raffle.

A casino trip is planned for Nov. 14 to Sands Casino. Pick ups in Exeter and Pittston. Non-members welcome on trips. For details, contact Johanna at 570-655-2720.

SHAVERTOWN: The Social Justice Committee of St. Therese’s Church is conducting a program for seniors and their caregivers to recognize issues facing loved ones as they age and to focus on resources that can help.

“Compassionate Senior Care: Looking Out for Our Loved Ones,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6. The guest speaker will be James Siberski, coordinator and assistant professor of gerontology education and director of the Geriatric Care Management Program at Misericordia University. He will offer tips for family members and caregivers.

The program will be held in Father Sammons Hall, located in the church basement, and is free and open to the public.

SWOYERSVILLE: The Swoyersville Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall. A harvest Halloween social menu will be served.

Winners of the 50-50 fundraiser at the last meeting were Pauline Smolko, Steffie Stefanidis and Lorraine Stibgen.

WILKES-BARRE: The Rainbow Seniors of Wilkes-Barre met recently at Albright United Church, Wilkes-Barre. President Angelo Ricci presided. Door prize winners were the Rev. Dr. James Harring and Betty Krasnahill. The Christmas party will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 at Logan’s Road House.

The November meeting will have nomination of officers for the coming year. Servers will be Jack and Dorothy Coach.

WILKES-BARRE: UGI retirees are planning a trip to see “Holiday Festival” on Nov. 13 at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Theatre, Lake Wallenpaupack. The trip includes a family-style meal and dessert, show, tips, taxes and bus. The cost is $57.

Pick up is at 9:15 a.m. at the Wyoming Valley Mall behind Sears Auto Repair. The public is welcome.
