HANOVER TWP.: Village Pet Supplies and Gifts is holding a year-long fundraiser to support the efforts of Blue Chip Farms. The goal is to raise $10,000 by Oct. 1, 2014.
Village Pets’ number-one selling biscuit line, Cloud Star Buddy Biscuits, is giving $1 to Blue Chip for each bar code from their biscuit line that is returned by customers to Village Pet Supplies. Village Pet has already had more than 500 bar codes returned. The hope is to have 2,000 bar codes returned by Oct. 1, 2014.
For the holiday season, Village Pet is doing a “Guess how many biscuits are in the jar” contest. Each $1 donation to Blue Chip is good for two guesses at the total number of biscuits in a jar. The person who guesses closest to the actual number of biscuits, without going over, will win the jar full of biscuits. There are three jars and there will be three winners. Winners without dogs can donate the biscuits to Blue Chip, if desired.
Other fundraisers planned for 2014 include a doggie beauty contest and a dog wedding. Watch for more details in the spring.
To help Village Pet reach its goal, stop in 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
