KINGSTON: The Hoyt Library, 284 Wyoming Ave., is hosting a college and career workshop presented by Jennifer L. Severini-Kresock, NEPA Career and College Counseling Associates, from 1-2 p.m. on Nov. 9.


The workshop, “Intro to Financial Aid and Scholarships and Forms Forum and Intro to Financial Aid and Scholarships,” will include basic information and tips on financial aid, forms, procedures and terminology. Scholarship information will also be provided. The Forms Forum is designed to help students and parents complete the forms required for college admissions, financial aid and scholarships. There is a $10 charge per family for workshop materials.

PITTSTON: Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad St., is hosting a Frugal Living Group event at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14. “Extreme Couponing 101” will be presented by Misericordia University’s Campus Clippers. Space is limited. To make a reservation call 570-654-9565 or email pittstonlibrary@yahoo.com.


The library is collecting holiday greeting cards for the troops until Nov. 11. The cards can be store bought or handmade. Cards should be signed and include a holiday note, but not sealed. Cards can be dropped off at the library. The library hopes to exceed last year’s total of 400.
