NANTICOKE – City police are searching for a man who robbed Mike’s Service Center at 277 Lower Broadway St. around 7:45 p.m. Monday.

Police said the suspect entered the service station brandishing a blued semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. He was handed approximately $150. He took the cell phones of the attendant and his friend and locked the pair in the garage area of the station. Before fleeing on foot, he disabled both phones in the station.

The suspect is described as white, between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a thick build and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a stocking mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black baggy jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 735-2200.

KINGSTON – Police are looking for a man who robbed the Honesdale National Bank on Wyoming Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank’s rear entrance, approached a teller, displayed a large knife and demanded money. He was handed an undetermined amount of cash and left the building through the front entrance. It’s unclear where he went after that or if a vehicle was involved.

The suspect is described as white, possibly in his 20s with a thin to average build and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, dark gloves and sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 287-6911.

BUTLER TWP. – Police reported the following incidents:

• A 28-year-old female Beech Mountain Lakes woman reported to police recently that her bank account had been charged several hundreds dollars for a Western Union wire transfer that she did not authorize.

• A 42-year-old Hazleton man reported to police he recently received death threats and other threatening phone calls from a suspect who resides in Drums.

• A 44-year-old Maple Drive man reported he was punched in the face around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 28 while he was sitting in his car that was parked in front of his home. Police said a passenger in the alleged victim’s car stopped the fight.

• Police are investigating a stolen car that was recovered after a crash last week. Police said a motorcycle crash was reported near West Foothills Drive at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 30. A witness noticed several suspects fleeing. The motorcycle was chained and secured behind the owner’s home, which was near the crash site, when it was stolen.

Police are asking anyone who observed a light blue vehicle in the area to contact police at 788-3230.

• Police are investigating a series of threatening e-mails that were received by an employee of Network Solutions. Police said the victim had been conducting business transactions with the suspect, who sent threatening and harassing messages. The suspect in the incident has been identified and is not in the area, police said.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

• Hope Lynn Remus, 37, of South Welles Street, Wilkes-Barre, was released on $5,000 unsecured bail after she was charged with prostitution on Monday for allegedly offering to perform a sex act for money.

According to the criminal complaint:

Police observed Remus loitering in the area of South Main and Academy streets at about 4 p.m. Sunday. Remus entered a vehicle that stopped at the intersection. Police said they stopped the driver, who claimed he picked up Remus for sexual favors.

The male driver hasn’t been charged as of Monday.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 14 in Central Court.

• Hezie Richie, of Dana Street, reported on Sunday someone attempted to pry open a window at his residence and damaged a screen, police said.

CONYNGHAM – Matthew P. Disabella, 26, of Drums, was charged Monday with two counts of harassment and a single count of terroristic threats. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Officer Anthony Michael Martine:

Megan Disabella told police on Sunday that her estranged husband, Matthew Disabella, left several threatening voice mails on her answering machine. Megan Disabella had obtained a protection from abuse order against Matthew in August. The PFA ordered Matthew not to contact his estranged wife.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Jan. 13 in Central Court.

KINGSTON TWP. – Bruce R. Deeble, 22, of East Center Street, Kingston Township, was charged with three counts each of identity theft, access device fraud and theft, and two counts of forgery. He was arraigned before District Judge James Tupper in Trucksville and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $500 bail.

Township police alleged in arrest records that in October and November Deeble used his parents’ Bon-Ton and Best Buy credit cards to purchase items at the respective stores, and used a Capitol One credit card to purchase items from several Web sites.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Jan. 8 in Central Court.
