Police Blotter

LARKSVILLE – Police said they are investigating an attempted burglary at a house on Ridge Street that occurred Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Police said a light bulb in a garage was removed and a screen to a door was damaged.

Residents are advised to call 911 if they see or hear suspicious activity.

NANTICOKE – City police reported the following:

• Erica Neyhard, of West Main Street, was recently captured on an arrest warrant for alleged failure to appear at a court hearing in Luzerne County, police said.

• Mindy Bayne, of Pine Street, recently reported someone stole lawn ornaments from her yard.

• Graffiti recently was found on a road sign on Industrial Park Road and on a utility building at the West Side playground.

• Lee Warren, of West Noble Street, recently reported someone stole 12 solar lights from his front yard.

• Modern Gas, West Main Street, recently reported a window was smashed at the business.

FRANKLIN TWP. – State police at Hazleton said they filed charges against three adults and a juvenile in connection with the theft of an all-terrain vehicle from a residence on Country Village Lane in April.

Shawn Sands, 19, of Falls, Ryan Brown, 22, of Dallas, and John Lamoreaux, 21, of Wilkes-Barre, are facing charges of theft, police said.

A 16-year-old boy will be petitioned to Luzerne County Juvenile Court on a theft charge.

Police said the four stole an ATV, owned by Amy Layaou, of Hanover Township, from a residence on April 17 and 18.

The charges were filed against Sands, Brown and Lamoreaux on Friday, police said.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

• Clothing, CDs and DVDs were stolen during a burglary at Jade’s Fashion, Carey Avenue, on Sunday.

• Police said Amy Sims, 28, of Sweet Valley, is facing a harassment citation after Sameerah Woods alleged she punched her at 237 Carey Ave. at 1:17 a.m. Monday.

• Michael Shoemaker reported Friday his 1994 Nissan Sentra, Pennsylvania registration ECP-0026, was stolen from 91 S. Empire St.

• Edward Miller, of Carey Avenue, reported Sunday that a weedwacker, an iPod and a Laptouch computer were stolen during a burglary at his residence.

• A woman claimed $6,825 in property was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on Public Square on Sunday, police said.

• A woman claimed $630 in property was taken from her vehicle while it was parked on North Washington Street on Wednesday.

• A woman claimed $1,450 in property was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on North River Street on Sunday.

• Police said Crystal Kelly, 29, of Jersey City, N.J., is facing charges of receiving stolen property for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle from Jersey City, N.J. Kelly was arrested when police were investigating a litter complaint on Race Street on Sunday.

• Police said they are investigating a home burglary on Old River Road on Friday.

• Police said Jennifer Smith, 21, of Wilkes-Barre, and Cassandra Morio, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, will be cited with harassment after a domestic dispute on New Alexander Street on Saturday.
