FORKSVILLE – Walter O’Hara, of Sweet Valley, reported to state police at Laporte, Sullivan County that prescription medication was missing from a mobile camper while it was parked inside the Sullivan County fairgrounds on Sunday.
ASHLEY – Police Chief David Cerski said the borough’s curfew ordinance will be enforced for those 17 years old and younger who are seen outside after 10 p.m.
Cerski further advises that all-terrain vehicles must be registered, display a registration plate and have insurance.
BUTLER TWP. – Township police reported the following incidents:
• A man was charged recently on evidence of drunken driving in connection to a vehicle crash in March. Police allege Kevin Skelley, 20, of Four Seasons Drive, Drums, had a blood alcohol level of 0.207 percent immediately after he crashed his vehicle at St. Johns Road and Old Airport Road on March 12. Skelley and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.
An adult driver in Pennsylvania is considered legally intoxicated with a BAC of 0.08 percent. A driver under 20 years old is considered legally intoxicated with a BAC of 0.02 percent.
Police said Skelley was charged with three counts of driving under the influence and a single count of underage drinking. A preliminary hearing is scheduled on July 22.
Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of North Hunter Highway and West Butler Drive at 10:53 a.m. Wednesday.
Ryan Mahovich, of Hazleton, was traveling south on North Hunter Highway in his Trailblazer and struck the rear of a van owned by Energy Technologies, which was operated by Curt Davis, of Hunlock Creek, police said.
Mahovich’s vehicle flipped onto its roof. His vehicle sustained heavy damage, according to police, and had to be towed.
Mahovich was evaluated for injuries by Valley Regional EMS. Davis was not injured.
• A man and his girlfriend were charged by township police on Monday with allegedly stealing jewelry from his mother and selling it at a pawn shop.
Thomas Andres Martin III, 26, and Anna Weaver, 25, both from Butler Township, were charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy. They were arraigned by District Judge Daniel O’Donnell in Sugarloaf and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail each.
Police said Martin and Weaver allegedly stole several thousand dollars worth of jewelry owned by Martin’s mother at her residence on Snow Valley Drive. Police learned the jewelry was sold at a pawn shop in Wilkes-Barre. Preliminary hearings are scheduled on July 1 in Central Court.
