WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
Someone broke into Sharon Sosa’s North Main Street home and stole cash and jewelry around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
A car stereo, clothing and prescription medication were stolen from a 1992 Ford owned by Mark Smith while the car was parked in the area of Rear 72 W. Union St. at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday.
Someone stole the license plate from a 1998 Dodge owned by Hugh Coombs while it was parked on East Northampton Street on Tuesday.
PLAINS TWP. – Township police said Wednesday they are investigating a rash of burglaries and thefts in recent days.
Two residences in the same neighborhood on Merritt Street were burglarized during the day – one was at 10 W. Merritt St. and the other at 21 E. Merritt St., police said. A 26-inch Mongoose bicycle was stolen during the day from the front porch at 6 W. Merritt St.
Police are also investigating a report of a stolen purse at Ole Tyme Charley’s, South River Street, police said.
