Police Blotter

FREELAND – Police arrested a borough man on charges he pointed a loaded shotgun toward a woman at a home Thursday night.

Robert J. Hunsinger, 30, of Washington Street, was arraigned Friday morning and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment, arrest papers show.

Hunsinger was jailed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 straight bail.

Borough police alleged in arrest papers that Hunsinger pointed the firearm toward Debra Wright as a result of a situation involving Hunsinger and the victim’s daughter, who is the defendant’s girlfriend, at 332 Washington St. around 6:15 p.m.

Hunsinger fled the home in a pickup truck that was stopped a short time later on Route 940, police said. The shotgun was located by police inside the vehicle.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for Nov. 25.

HANOVER TWP. – Township police said the driver of a vehicle sped away after crashing into another vehicle on South Main Street at about 4 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Sarah Drumm, of Countrywood Drive, Hanover Township, was traveling south on South Main Street when a green Plymouth or Dodge minivan turned in front of her.

Police said the driver of the van, which should have damage to the front passenger side, sped away on Oxford Street.
