WILKES-BARRE – City police reported a 29-year-old woman from Parkview Circle said her husband punched her rear view mirror on her 1997 Honda – breaking the mirror and smashing the windshield – in the area of Coal Street on Thursday.
NESCOPECK TWP. – State police at Shickshinny said they recovered a stolen 1995 Honda Accord that was parked in a private driveway on Wapwallopen Road Friday morning.
The vehicle was stolen from the Allentown area on Wednesday and was stripped of its hood, battery, radiator, air conditioner condenser, front bumper, grill, headlights, ignition and radio, police said.
Police said the interior was damaged and the tires were replaced with spare tires.
Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact state police at Shickshinny at 542-4117.
PRINGLE – A student at the West Side Career and Technology Center was charged on Thursday with carrying brass knuckles on school property.
Cody A. Kenger, 18, of Shavertown, was charged with prohibited offensive weapon and possession of weapon on school property. He was arraigned by District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
State police at Wyoming allege a school guidance counselor found the brass knuckles on Kenger, according to the criminal complaint.
Kenger told police, according to the criminal complaint, that he was carrying the brass knuckles because he was tired of being jumped.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 10 before District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville.
HANOVER TWP. – Township police reported the following on Friday:
• Tracey Hart reported money was stolen from her vehicle when it was parked on Center Street.
• Lori Bowen reported money was stolen from her vehicle when it was parked on Center Street.
• Richard Sokoloski reported soda was stolen from his vehicle when it was parked on South Main Street.
• Richard Slaff reported someone dumped four biohazard bags inside a Dumpster on West Saint Mary’s Road.
PLAINS TWP. – A Wisconsin man was charged on Friday with stealing vehicle keys from an employee at the Woodlands Inn and Resort.
Timothy L. Fairconatue, 25, of Milwaukee, was charged with robbery, simple assault, criminal attempt to commit theft, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $30,000 bail.
Police allege Fairconatue asked a desk clerk for a ride to a residence on Sarah Street in Plains Township early Friday morning. The clerk refused, and Fairconatue punched the clerk in the head, according to the criminal complaint.
Police said Fairconatue grabbed the keys to the clerk’s vehicle.
A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday before District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township.
