COURT BRIEFS

WILKES-BARRE – A man accused by Kingston police of impersonating an officer was sentenced to probation on Thursday.

County Judge Chester Muroski sentenced Richard Park, 22, of Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, to two years probation on two counts of impersonating a public servant.

Police said in arrest records that Park identified himself as a police officer to a group of juveniles at Market Street and Wyoming Avenue on Aug. 10, and as a police officer to several residents in the area of Price Street and Railroad Avenue on Aug. 19.

Police said in arrest records that Park was talking into a radio scanner after he identified himself as an officer.

WILKES-BARRE – A man accused by the Luzerne County Drug Task Force of selling cocaine waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Wilkes-Barre Central Court on Thursday.

Dumont Anderson, 32, of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, waived to county court two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility.

Authorities allege Anderson sold cocaine to an undercover agent on John Street, Wilkes-Barre, on July 23.

HAZLETON – A woman accused of accepting disability income while being employed waived her right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge Joseph Zola in Hazleton on Thursday.

Patty Lee Huemme-Gruenemeier, 41, of Hazleton, waived two counts of theft and a single count of workers’ compensation insurance fraud to Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas.

The state Attorney General’s Office alleges Huemme-Gruenemeier received an income from three employments while receiving disability insurance income from November 2006 to December, according to court records.

SWOYERSVILLE – A man and a woman accused by Larksville police of allowing a girl to be near a convicted sex offender waived their right to preliminary hearings before District Judge David Barilla on Thursday.

William Fetterman Jr., 37, and Donna Wolfe, 44, both from Ashley, each waived a single count of endangering the welfare of children to county court.

Police allege Fetterman and Wolfe permitted the girl to be in contact with William Benjamin Wolfe, 40, when they resided on Nesbitt Street, Larksville, earlier this year.

William Wolfe, a registered sexual offender under the state’s Megan’s Law, is facing charges that he molested the girl in the home in May, according to arrest records.

Police said a probation officer warned Fetterman and Wolfe to keep the child away from William Wolfe.
