EDWARDSVILLE – Police arrested a man on Sunday on charges he sexually assaulted a woman.
Ralph Edward Hoover, 32, of Pugh Street, Edwardsville, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and simple assault. He remained jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on Thursday for lack of $20,000 bail.
Police allege Hoover sexually assaulted a woman in his residence on Sunday.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 25 before District Judge Paul J. Roberts in Kingston.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following incidents:
Stephen Havrilak, 50, of Mill Street, allegedly threatened a 49-year-old city woman at 214 Mayock St. just before 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Juan Figuerora, 21, of New York, was charged with breaking into a vacant residence at 54 Sylvanus St. on Wednesday.
Figuerora was charged with three counts of criminal trespass and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 5 in Wilkes-Barre Central Court.
• Officers charged two people with trespassing inside a vacant home on Elizabeth Street on Wednesday.
Jiaccone A. Rudolph, 34, of Dexter Street, Hanover Township, and Diana M. Garrison, 29, of Susquehanna Street, Wilkes-Barre, were charged with two counts of criminal trespass. They were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail each.
Preliminary hearings are tentatively scheduled on Nov. 5 in Wilkes-Barre Central Court.
• A Hanover Township woman was charged with withdrawing money from a credit union account that had insufficient funds.
Montwona Laraye Moon, 32, of Lee Park Avenue, was charged with four counts of theft. Police said Moon offered for deposit several empty envelopes at Choice One Federal Credit Union, Hazle Avenue, and immediately withdrew money after the false deposits in May.
A preliminary hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
• Police said Cecil Powell, 22, of Vine Street, Glen Lyon, was charged with theft in connection with a stolen purse on Hazle Avenue on Wednesday.
• Darren Stucker, of Beekman Street, reported Thursday someone smashed his vehicle’s windshield while it was parked near 56 Beekman St., police said.
HANOVER TWP. – Township police reported the following incidents:
• John Pechulis, of Sugar Notch, reported on Thursday someone smashed a window on his vehicle while it was parked at the Park and Ride lot, South Main Street.
• Gary Makowski, of Ridge Street, reported someone stole money and prescription medication from his residence on Thursday.
BUTLER TWP. – Township police reported the following:
• Victoria Woodword, 60, and Michael Lapinski, 54, were cited with harassment after police responded to a domestic dispute in the 800 block of St. Johns Road on Oct. 23.
• A Freeland man was not injured after crashing his vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Police said Charles Boyle, 67, was westbound on East Butler Drive near Freedom Road at about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control and skidded into a guardrail.
