HAZLETON – Police charged a city man on Tuesday with threatening his wife.
Miguel Antonio Nunez, 24, of North Vine Street, Hazleton, was charged with unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and harassment. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
Police said Nunez forced his wife into a vehicle Monday and drove her to Wilkes-Barre, where he made her remove her clothes. He then returned to their Hazleton home and changed the locks to the residence, according to the criminal complaint.
Police said in the criminal complaint that Nunez threatened to harm his wife and other people.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 4 before District Judge Joseph Zola in Hazleton.
SUGARLOAF TWP. – State police at Hazleton said they cited Christopher Bove, 24, of Pottsville, with retail theft for allegedly stealing $122 in merchandise from Kmart, Laurel Mall, on Sept. 26.
