Man is charged with child porn possession Police Blotter

EDWARDSVILLE – Authorities charged a man Tuesday for allegedly possessing child pornography on his computer.

Tor Durham, 31, of Roosevelt Street, Edwardsville, was arraigned by District Judge Paul Roberts in Kingston on 10 counts each of possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, and a single count of criminal use of communication facility. He was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Edwardsville police and the Luzerne County Detectives Unit allege Durham was in possession of one video and nine pictures of child pornography on his computer. Durham allegedly used file sharing programs to exchange child pornography on the Internet, according to the criminal complaint.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Dec. 2 before Roberts.

HANOVER TWP. – Township police reported the following:

• Police said Margaret Murray, Scott Murray and Patrick Burkoski, of Hazle Avenue, were cited with harassment after a domestic dispute in an apartment on Hazle Avenue on Monday.

• Faruq McCoy, of Luzerne Street, reported three men assaulted him in an alley behind Pantry Quik, Lee Park Avenue and Division Street, on Sunday. Faruq was struck in the head with brass knuckles, and he was treated at a local hospital, police said.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact township police at 825-1254.

• A township man was cited with several traffic violations after a two-vehicle crash at Main Road and Mary Street on Monday, police said.

Police said Matthew Horro, of Simonblock Avenue, driving a Buick Skylark, struck a Hyundai Elantra, driven by Kara Young, of Nanticoke, at about 4:30 p.m.

Horro was cited with driving with a suspended license, careless driving, driving on left side of roadway and a seatbelt violation, police said.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

• Police said David Yeasock, 43, of South Main Street, Plains Township, was cited with public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated in the area of 833 N. Pennsylvania Ave. early Tuesday morning.

• Police said Amy Lyback, of Avoca, was arrested on evidence of drunken driving after a traffic stop on North Washington Street at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

• Police said Melissa Janosov, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested on evidence of drunken driving after a crash at Kulp Avenue and North River Street at about 12:03 a.m. Tuesday.

• Police said Christopher Bevan, of Hazleton, was cited with harassment after an altercation with Brian Daubert, of Noxen, in a room at Gennetti’s Hotel, East Market Street, on Saturday.

HANOVER TWP. – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported the following:

• John Lawrence Verrant III, 23, of Wilkes-Barre, was charged with furnishing liquor and beer to a minor in the 200 block of North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, on Nov. 19, police said.

• M&G Holdings Inc., doing business as Black Diamond Travern, 204 Dana St., Swoyersville, was recently cited with permitting smoking in a public place where smoking is prohibited, police said.

• Lucky Dogs Inc., 209 E. Main St., Plymouth, was recently cited with failing to require patrons to leave 30 minutes after closing, and permitting patrons to remove alcoholic beverages after 2:30 a.m., police said.
