Nicholson man killed in crash on Route 11 Police Blotter

NICHOLSON TWP. – A Nicholson man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 11 in Wyoming County on Wednesday, state police at Tunkhannock said. Police identified the man as Sandy A. Buselli, 51. He was driving a Ford Escort northbound on Route 11 when it crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a Jeep Cherokee driven by Ian W. Billets, 28, of Nicholson, at about 8:50 a.m., police said.

Buselli was pronounced dead at the scene.

Billets’ vehicle rolled into its roof. He suffered a minor injury and was treated at a hospital, police said.

Route 11 was closed for approximately five hours as investigators reconstructed the crash.

WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

Someone removed Tom Bannon’s red 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt from 5 N. Sherman St. on Tuesday. The vehicle was later recovered by Wilkes-Barre Township police.

A 37-year-old city woman was assaulted by a male known to her in the area of 864 N. Washington St. around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Merchandise was stolen Tuesday from Dollar General, 295 S. Main St.

A man reported at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday that someone damaged the siding of his Madison Street home by throwing eggs on it.

A 21-year-old White Haven woman’s vehicle was scratched at 229 Horton St. on Tuesday.

Lonnie Maldonado, 33, of Wilkes-Barre, attempted to destroy drug paraphernalia in the area of 10 Carey Ave. on Tuesday afternoon.

A woman’s home on Courtright Avenue was entered and pipes were stolen on Tuesday afternoon.

Terry Panetta, 29, of Nanticoke, attempted to leave Boscov’s Department Store, 15 S. Main St., with stolen merchandise at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday.

• Lisa Ziegler, of Exeter, reported someone stole a purse and other items from her vehicle when it was parked on the top level at the Central Park and Lock garage, South Main Street, on Tuesday.
