BUCK TWP. – An Albrightsville man was killed Sunday in an early-morning crash on state Route 115.
State police at Wyoming said Joseph G. Pagliaro, 39, was southbound on 115 about a half mile north of Thornhurst Road at about 1:50 a.m. when his vehicle struck head-on a rock embankment along the east berm.
The vehicle traveled southwest, crossing over Route 115 as it rolled over numerous times.
The vehicle came to rest in a wooded area along the west berm, police said.
Pagliaro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pagliaro’s front airbag was deployed; he was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
HAZLE TWP. – Kenneth Smith reported that someone broke the side window of his green 2005 Kenworth tractor while it was parked at Perchak Trucking, 1490 S. Church St., sometime between 2 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday and stole a Sirius radio and a GPS unit from inside.
Anyone with information should call state police in Hazleton at 459-3890.
WILKES-BARRE – A city woman who called 911 requesting police respond to her home to remove her husband was arrested on an aggravated assault charge on Saturday.
Police alleged 49-year-old Sandra Dresing assaulted her husband and then called police because she wanted him out of their home on North Pennsylvania Avenue around 2:10 p.m. Saturday.
Dresing’s husband, who suffered a head trauma injury, was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for treatment, police said. His name has not been released.
Police said Dresing was arraigned later that afternoon before a duty district judge.
Bail and a preliminary hearing date were not immediately known.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
Robert J. Vandermark, 39, of Wilkes-Barre, reported that a man known to him pushed him to the ground and removed a bottle of prescription medication on East Market Street around 8 p.m. Friday.
Vandermark, who became uncooperative with the investigating officer, refused any further police assistance, police said.
Police found him to be visibly intoxicated and arrested him on a charge of public drunkenness.
Fred Shaffer, 52, of Priestly Street, reported at about 7:50 a.m. Saturday that an unknown suspect spray-painted graffiti on a 1994 Ford truck and other construction equipment in the area of the dike project on North River Street.
Two rear tires on 29-year-old Leah Garrah’s 2004 Ford Explorer were slashed while it was parked at 268 Moyallen St. around 8:40 a.m. Saturday.
Criminal mischief charges was filed against Eric Zielinski, 24, of Plains Township, for allegedly slashing two tires on 56-year-old Jeffrey Kaliner’s 1995 Pontiac while it was parked at 300 Parkview Circle on Friday night.
Joseph Ryncavage Jr. reported at about 12:05 a.m. Saturday that the side-view mirror was knocked off a vehicle while it was parked at 140 Main St.
Justin Puzak, 18, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after police alleged he refused to comply with orders to stop being disorderly while police investigated a missing person report on Hazle Avenue on Saturday.
Ryan J. Butler was arrested on evidence of driving under the influence during a traffic stop on South Washington Street at East Northampton Street around 3:12 a.m. Saturday.
Someone smashed the windshield of a woman’s vehicle on Monroe Street on Saturday.
David George was arrested on a providing false identification to law enforcement charge and a bench warrant after he allegedly gave an officer a false name on Carey Avenue and Wood Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Joshua Yuhas was charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after police alleged he was observed punching a woman outside of 329 E. Northampton St. around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Two men attempted to take pizzas from a male delivery driver on Hill Street around 3:25 p.m. Saturday. The suspects were chased away, police said.
An affidavit has been filed against Xavier Latty, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, on a charge of indirect criminal contempt for allegedly violating the conditions of a protection from abuse order by making telephone contact with a woman on Saturday.
• Paul Schuckers, 23, was arrested during a traffic stop at North Main and Union streets on Saturday after he was allegedly found in possession of a hypodermic needle and a metal spoon that police say was intended for drug use.
• A woman reported just before 8 p.m. Saturday that someone smashed her car window and removed property valued at about $50 while the vehicle was parked on Park Avenue.
• Candice Valenti, 27, of Kingston, was arrested and cited with disorderly conduct after she allegedly refused to comply with officers’ orders to stop being disorderly while they were responding to a domestic dispute on North Sherman Street at 8:31 p.m. Saturday, police said.
• Joseph Koval told police at 11:04 p.m. Saturday that someone damaged his vehicle and stole items from inside while it was parked on Sherman Street.
• Robert Rebmann, 26, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested and charged with burglary after police responded to a reported burglary on Kidder Street and obtained information that Rebmann allegedly forced his way into a residence and removed property, police said.
• Nygee Taylor, 19, of Wilkes-Barre, will be cited with harassment based on a complaint police received at 3:51 p.m. Sunday from a woman who alleged that Taylor struck her at a North Sherman Street location, police said.
• A Sambourne Street woman told police at 4:42 p.m. Sunday that someone entered her residence and stole cash and property with a combined value of about $2,800.
• Mike Prushinski, owner of Anthracite Deli at 604 Scott St., told police on Sunday that someone entered his business by prying open the rear door and stole cash, a TV set and a computer.
• John Ferdinand told police on Sunday that someone smashed the window of his 2008 Lincoln and stole a Blackberry, CDs and a purse while the vehicle was parked near Holy Savior Church on Hillard Street.
• Amanda Busacco told police on Sunday that someone damaged her vehicle in the area of the front and rear driver-side doors while it was parked on Bradford Street.

I hope those two pizza thiefs ran away with their tails between their legs, I'd pray I was never caught and sent to LCCF for trying to rob pizzas. And not being able to do it, 2 on 1, this Delivery man must be like 7 feet tall with arms the size of oak trees. He must have a chest as wide as a red barn and legs with the power of mules, This pizza man should be given a key to the city for his heroics and keeping the streets safe, it wasn't the tow truck driver Bob whatever his name is was it? I like that you didn't put his name in the paper and let us wait to see what nickname you people give this vigilante of vegetable pie deserves only the best like the quality of his pie. In these times of recession and need we need more heroes like him.
