PRINGLE – A borough woman was arrested after she allegedly bit her boyfriend’s thumbs and neck during an argument over their relationship late Tuesday night.
Dawn M. Vankeuren, 23, of 402 Union St., Apt. 2, was arraigned Wednesday morning on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Borough police allege Vankeuren attacked 23-year-old Matthew P. Martin, of Pringle, and then proceeded to smash windows at their Union Street apartment at 11:45 p.m.
A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 4 in Central Court.
WILKES-BARRE – An Ashley man was arrested for allegedly selling heroin at a McDonald’s parking lot on Tuesday night.
Kwan Conley, 33, of 77 Cook St., Ashley, was arraigned Wednesday morning on felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a control substance, criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Conley was jailed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.
Police allege Conley negotiated to sell heroin to a confidential informant at the restaurant on East Northampton Street and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard at 6:55 p.m.
Undercover officers surrounded a Dodge Neon and took Conley into custody, the criminal complaint states. Police located Conley’s cell phone allegedly used to negotiate the drug transaction, along with a bundle of heroin stamped “Roc Boys” in black ink.
A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 4 in Central Court.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following incidents:
Sahan Alanson, of South Franklin Street, reported he was walking near the intersection of Garfield and Sambourne streets Tuesday night when a man approached him, punched him in the face and took his cash at 9:30 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet, 3 inches tall, 200 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, police said.
A man reported at 9:36 p.m. Monday that two men him, brandished a knife and took approximately $35 from him before fleeing on foot on Hanover Street. The victim suffered a minor laceration but refused medical treatment.
Someone entered a parked vehicle on Brookside Street and removed property valued at $115 on Monday night.
Gregory Trzesniowski reported at 10:29 p.m. Monday that someone put a burning bicycle tire under his vehicle on Coal Street.
Jason Fowler, 31, of Philadelphia, was allegedly found to be in possession of suspected heroin on South Pennsylvania Ave. at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday, police said. He was arrested and charged with possession of a control substance with intent to deliver heroin.
Someone broke into 20-year-old Alicia Foster’s 1999 Hyundai and stole a CD in the dash stereo and a GPS unit while it was parked at 660 Mayflower Crossing.
Chelsea Ruiz, 18, of Wilkes-Barre, will be cited with harassment for allegedly verbally and physically assaulting a man during a domestic dispute on Wyoming Street at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
A man reported at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday that someone entered his South Franklin Street residence and removed property valued at $395.97.
DURYEA – Police have filed charges against a Wilkes-Barre woman for allegedly intimidating a witness in a forgery case by offering him cash to drop charges against her friend.
Debra L. Hughes, 53, of 179 Dana St., was issued a summons on June 19 for a felony charge of intimidation of a witness, court records show. A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 22 in Central Court.
Police allege Hughes called Francis A. Donohue and offered $200 to make the charges go away on a forgery case involving Hughes’ friend on April 15, arrest papers state.
NANTICOKE – City police reported the following incidents:
Erin Olshefski, of East Green Street, reported on Tuesday that someone stole an iPod and a cell phone with charger from her vehicle.
One 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds were cited with trespassing after officers’ observed the juveniles skateboarding at the Kanjorski Center, East Main Street, on Tuesday.
David Sullivan, of West Main Street, reported on Tuesday that someone keyed the rear door of his vehicle.
Thomas Atchue, 36, of 61 Academy St., Plymouth, was arrested on outstanding warrants after he allegedly was seen by Sgt. Brian Williams and Officer Bryan Kata parked in a vehicle on East Noble Street on Tuesday, police said.
Fred David, of West Main Street, reported Tuesday that someone took a Husky knife, cash and medication from his vehicle.
A criminal mischief citation was filed Tuesday against Rafael Munoz-Castro, 36, of 407 W. Main St., after he was allegedly seen on video surveillance pulling flowers out of a flower bed in front of Jerry’s Market, West Main Street, police said.
Munoz-Castro was also cited with disorderly conduct and trespassing after being given notice of trespassing at the same market, police said.
Lynn Brown, of West Grand Street, reported Tuesday that someone stole two cushions from her lawn chairs, which were on her front porch.
Frederick Sivulich, of Glen Lyon, reported on Tuesday that someone threw eggs at a vehicle while it was parked on East Church and South Market streets.
Patricia A. Decker, 39, of 426 S. Walnut St., was cited with public drunkenness after police alleged that she was involved in a domestic dispute outside her home on Tuesday.
NANTICOKE – A Virginia man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his estranged wife outside of a home on Friday night.
Ravi D. Perry, 38, of 327 36th St., Newport News, Va., was arraigned Saturday on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, court records show. He was released on recognizance.
Police allege Perry approached Daveina Perry, placed her in a headlock and tried to take her car keys outside her sister’s home at 210 College St. at 7:03 p.m., arrest papers state.
Two witness told police they saw Ravi Perry attack the woman and place her in a chokehold, the criminal complaint states. .
A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 1 in Central Court.
